A book is an adventure, which allows you to go off into
another world. You get to imagine everything
about the book and escape from reality for a little bit. I do agree with Nancy Jo Sales that it’s
something about the having a physical book in your hands and how you can feel
the pages when you turn the pages of the book.
You can’t feel the pages of the book on a Kindle. Also, for me I like to see how close I am to
the end of the book because it makes me excited to think about how the author
will end the book. I don’t think it is
the same having a Kindle instead of a hardback book because when you are older
you can pass down the book to your kids and it can be passed down through
generations. Each generation can get the
same book and see what you said if you made notes in the margin. I think there is something “magical” about a
real book because you can put little side notes in the margin and it adds a
little something special for the next person that reads the book next. It also makes it a little personal because
when you are older and you reread a book you can see what you have thought about
it when you first read it. To me there is something special about having a book
in your hands and feeling each page go by and seeing how much is left of the
book. A Kindle just isn’t the same to me
it’s another electronic that we don’t need even though it can carry more than
one book. I just think in our society
today we use to much electronics and we can’t seem to get away from them. In my opinion I do think reading a hardback
book is better because you get away from reality and from using electronics.
